About me

My name is Kim Polston and I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. Well, technically I was born in Raleigh and raised on a farm about 30 minutes outside of Raleigh in Bunn, NC. I am a tom-boy, massive lover of all sports, wife, mother of one amazing son, sister, daughter, friend, lover of books, and follower of Christ. For the last 18 years I have lived with chronic pain and disease that has led me to a deeper faith as I have navigated through some hard questions and emotions with the Lord. Funny enough, one thing I would not describe myself as is a writer. However, the Lord clearly called me to do this many, many years ago. It, unfortunately, just took me a long time to come to terms with it, surrender to the One who called me, and to learn to put my confidence and self worth in my Savior, not other people's opinion of me. My hope with this blog is that I will write only what the Lord leads me to say, when He leads me to say it. If He doesn't lead, I pray I have the courage not to write.
My journey with my health has meant many moments where I was too sick to open up the Bible and read, therefore, worship music became vital in my life. With each blog post I will have a worship song to go with it. I believe the Lord uses music to touch our lives in ways that words alone cannot reach. My hope is that you will listen to the song first, to allow the Lord to open your heart and mind to what He has to say through the written word.
I was a youth minister for 20 years and that created a deep love for teaching within me. Whether it be through speaking or writing, I know the Lord has called me to this ministry. Recently, I have felt called to encourage and lift up women as they walk through life. If you or your church are ever in need of a speaker for a women's event or retreat, please go to the contact page for more information of how to book me. I would be honored to be a part of your next event.
